The feline lower urinary tract and its common diseases

Does your cat have difficulties when urinating? He doesn’t use the litter as usual? Is nervous and aggressive?

He could be affected by a problem of idiopathic cystitis or by FLUTD (feline lower urinary tract disease), of which we don’t know the causes but we know the predisposing factors: in addition to stress, sedentary lifestyle, overweight, neutering, lack of ingestion of water, problems of cohabitation and sharing space with other cats.

SYMPTOMS

+ Dysuria – difficulty urinating

+ Haematuria – blood in the urine

+ Stranguria – pain on urination

+ Pollakiuria – increased frequency of    urination

+ Periuria – urination in inappropriate    locationsa

+ Restlessness and vocalisation, behavioural    changes

+ Overgrooming – on perineum and ventrum

EFFICACY

Thanks to its active ingredients, Cystophan helps to relieve the symptoms of Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC), reducing incidents and gravity. It contains N-acetyl D-glucosamine and Hyaluronic Acid, effective in preventing microbes and crystals attaching to bladder wall; L-tryptophan that helps decreasing the stress of the pet, regulating appetite and sleep, decrease its anxiety.
It’s very attractive as it’s chicken flavored.

INDICATIONS

CYSTOPHAN is very effective in the management of Feline Idiopathic Cystitis, both during acute cases than chronic ones. During acute cases it reduces the severity and duration of clinical signs, while during chronic cases it increases the interval between episodes and reduces their severity and duration.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Capsules can be given whole or pulled apart and sprinkled onto food.

DOSAGE

The initial loading dose for at least 2 weeks is:

CATS < 3KG 1 capsule daily
CATS > 3KG 2 capsules daily

The maintenance dose is:

CATS < 3KG 1 capsule every other day
CATS > 3KG 1 capsule daily
